Free Business Support From Staffordshire County Council

I am Sophie Carroll and I run the Business start up team at Staffordshire County Council and we support people within Staffordshire to start and grow a business, we have the below free support currently available.

 Start-up mentoring

Each District and Borough has access to a face to face start up workshop, here you will learn the very basics of starting a business. From how to register on companies’ house, what insurances to have in place, and how to calculate tax. To book onto these we need to know your name, business idea/name and your location.

 Get started and Grow

This scheme helps people who have set up their business already and need extra support. You can have a website made, 5-7 pages to help get you started, Branding and Logos created or receive 121 Legal advice. You could also access free workshops on Social media, Marketing or Accountancy. You must be based in Staffordshire excluding Stoke on Trent and must be registered on Companies house, or have a UTR number and you must have attended a start-up workshop to be eligible.

 Growth ladder

Growth ladder supports businesses aged 2-5 years, with bespoke 121 support to help you grow your business. You will receive 3 hours of bespoke support which will help you identify challenges you may be facing. This is a short intervention where you will gain clear actions to help you grow and a simple action plan.  Build and Scale

Build and scale is for businesses aged 2-5 years in our high growth sectors. Construction, property, Trades and professional services are growing 10% year on year in Staffordshire, and we want to support these businesses as much as we can to continue to grow. This support will give you access to an experienced consultant who will work with you and your business over a period of a few months, delivering 8 hours of support to help your business grow.  Women in Business  

The Women in Business Programme empowers women across Staffordshire to start, grow and succeed in business. This supportive, fully funded programme helps women build confidence, skills and a strong business network. Workshops & Skills Training Covering: Leadership ,Finance, Confidence building, Digital skills, Marketing.
